Console logging this early in the boot should be trivial via /dev/kmsg,
if nothing else? Maybe that's mildly abusive of the interface, but any
attempt to hint at people why their boot is failing to be useful sure
beats just sitting there.

We don't update the release pocket's Packages file post-release. As
such, this bug will only get fixed if libterm-readkey-perl is uploaded
to -updates or -security, which seems unlikely to be necessary.
That said, rest assured that it's supported regardless of the state of
the Packages file.

This could use some diffs attached to see how bad the damage is, but as
long as the three combinations are tested, I'm fine with this in theory:
1) old kernel and new userspace
