This bug is a serious issue for me. I am on Xenial and use my headset on
a daily basis for audio meetings and most often selecting the HSP mode
in the audio settings will not do anything and sometimes it randomly
decides to work.
I really hope this can be fixed soon on Xenial and that we are not

Well, if I comment out "use-session-dbus" in Xsession.options, the

I might have the same issue, but I also have an error message in dmesg:
[ 1522.851014] mmap: avahi-daemon (1108): VmData 4284416 exceed data
ulimit 4194304. Update limits or use boot option ignore_rlimit_data.
and also an out of memory message in the syslog:

An update to my post #36.
I can now confirm that the problem is solved for me; cups no longer
stops running after a few minutes, and once again I am able to access
,localhost:631 without the need to start cups running again.

Could it be precisely because you have chrome running at the same time,
thus leaving no available RAM for apport to report the crash? Or other
memory-hungry apps?

This sounds like it could be bug #1643976, but without a crash file to
inspect the stack trace I can’t be sure. Can you please check whether
you have a crash file for webbrowser-app under /var/crash, and if so
attach it here? Thanks!
