A few days ago while staring at ps and tracker was grinding my hard
drive, it occurred to me, Wouldn't it be nice
a system specific ifdef, it was a feature specific ifdef with
the right checks in the configure.ac but same difference. I'm still new
to C, and am finding small things to implement in projects I use.
I'll work on this a bit tonight and send a patch once it is working on my box.

this be accepted?
My plan was to look at tracker-status and use the different status's
from the TrackerStatus enum.

Hi,
would it be possible to include the translation template file
(whatever .pot), pre-compiled as a convenience for translators?
I want to translate, not grab an entire trunk of Tracker and learn how
to compile it again to get a simple translation update work done. I
guess I'm a bit late to say
and you get the benefits of working
with filestreams. fclose will close the underlying file descriptor so
there are no worries about dangling fds. Sorry but I've been to busy
to dig into the tracker code.

Jaime,
Congratulations on the latest release! We've been waiting for
sometime. Now can you blog about why tracker 0.6 is so great on planet
gnome?
Awesome work!

did you do a make clean?
Nope, not initially. Now I just tested (after restoring the dbus
tracker.service to /usr/bin/trackerd), and after a make clean, it works
properly. Good!

we do currently delay dir scan for 5 secs at startup so as not to slow
boot time
Just curious, did you benchmark that with an average gnome desktop
setup? I mean, if you add openoffice's quickstart and tomboy to the
login process, it can easily take 20+ seconds to login (and maybe more
than 30

Why not check out the latest from svn? I just built it yesterday.
I think that was the point. You don't get something as important as
Tracker tested efficiently if you don't release early and often.
Clinging to your code in SVN entitles you to 5% of the population
willing to test it. Releasing
