I've used that before. It's more or less Eclipse tailored to web development,
as far as I can see. Eclipse is a bit heavy for my taste.
I'm a fan of Aptana Studio 3 running on top of OpenJDK
sascha, did you try the latest version of FlashVideoReplacer (which works
with Youtube)?
It is available here (just download to your computer then open with your

Actually, IceCat was recently added to all supported versions of Trisquel.
It happened earlier today, if I recall. I'm currently running IceCat in
Taranis.
Actually are you using the 5.0 alpha? It actually shouldn't work with the
command. Versions 4.5 and below don't have icecat in them (unless you add an
external PPA).
You would have to have your friend add the ppa for icecat if he isn't using
the 5.0 alpha.
It is a correct way. Another one, if you prefer a GUI, is to use the Synaptic
package manager (accessible from the System/Administration menu).
Someone sent me an email asking how to install GNU IceCat. Strangely you
cannot do it when clicking on add/remove software. I installed it by opening
a terminal and typing sudo apt-get install icecat, then sudo apt-get update
not sure if this was the correct way to do it but it worked for me.
The Deskbar-Applet seems to have the same features or at least similar with
the ones you are talking about.
I'm not sure if it's in the default configuration but is definitely in the
repositories.

In Fedora there is a possibility to add a resizeable area to the gnome-panel,
which acts as a substitute for the Alt+F2 command. Everything that is entered
there autocompletes according to what you have entered there before. Enter

Alright! Geany seems to be a good tool, thanks for the hint Adrian.
PS I ticked "install desktop" in the installation process so this may be a
bug in Trisquel-netinst_4.5.1_amd64.iso
Thank you both.
I shall try those and report back.
It should be added, that the drivers for 3D support are there, they just
require the binary firmware to be loaded at runtime to execute some functions
(like 3D rendering). AMD does not want to make that firmware open source. An
AMD/ATI official stated in a forum that this is due to their DRM.
I think it's safe, because your current version of Linux should be
2.6.35-30, not 2.6.35-28. Aptitude is just cleaning old and unused
packages. It did the same on system recently.
Hi!
I also use Trisquel with an AMD/ATI GPU. I don't know any exciting
tricks concerning that. It doesn't seem like AMD GPUs will run in full
capacity in a completely free system any time soon. AMD doesn't allow
it. See:

I used to have an ATI Radeon X850XT. What tricks I found for better 3D
support? Easy. I bought a new motherboard with an integrated Intel X4500. I
know, it sucks. Both the fact that this is the only way for reliable, non
reverse engineered 3D support and the performance of the card. Some olde

That doesn't seem right, is it possible I screwed up something in my system?
That is true. Now, KompoZer probably is irrelevant. I have not tried

just the standard tab key, in bluefish it's Ctrl+period or somet

I'm a newcomer to completely free software community and I have found myself

literally what he said. Kind of disappointed now.
Mr. Torvalds wants to jump right to 3.0 from this point? That is quite
amazing.
I used to work in bluefish, but am slowly switching to simply kate. Kate is
better, because it has all the functions I need (switching between many
different files in one session, syntax highlighting for HTML and CSS) and
starts faster than bluefish even in gnome. That's for the test editor.
Glad that it works for you, have fun with html5 video!
I have no idea how blocking cookies from one particular site works on GNU
Icecat. I cannot find any option that would allow you to do that in the Edit

For a simple website, there is KompoZer: http://kompozer.net

block the cookies from youtube. It's a known issue, from time to time you
have to block them. If you have a youtube account, you'll have to reenable
them in order to login the next time. That problem comes and goes, and to
watch videos again you have to just block the cookies from youtube.

I second that idea of opening a subforum on rules. BUT I remember full well
what it was like when I first got on the Ubuntu Forums. When you're new to

GNU Icecat is actually going to be the default browser in the next version of
Trisquel 5.
Currently it isn't included in the repos but you can install it via PPA here

the current abrowser does not.
