Thanks for the reply ivaylo.
I'm actually trying this on Parabola GNU/Linux libre. Removing totem-plugin
there and installing gecko-mediaplayer gives a waiting for plugin error when
using Midori and Epiphany. It might however be related to this bug:
Failbook is the ultimate wet dream of Big Brother. It is chock full of
horror.
E.g. http://stallman.org/facebook.html
:) I've been doing some further reading regarding the issue and becoming more
leerly of it. I thought there was some good points made by one particular
person. I'm not going to make a decision as to what to do just yet. I have
contacted the expert on the issue and waiting back for his reply.
Somebody?
Is it good idea to enable apt-p2p by default?
I've noticed that if I do a search on google, the results page includes
ubuntu.com in one of the URL variables. Searching for something goes to:
http://www.google.com/search?q=somethingbtnG=Searchoe=utf-8rls=com.ubuntu%3Aen-US%3Aunofficialclient=abrowser-a
the rls url variable is com.ubuntu
Interesting. I'll submit the task. Maybe it will work.

Considering that not all users have access to a broadband connection, be that
for geographic reasons or by economic reasons; I believe it's safe to
conclude that the answer to your question is NO.
Finally!
I use the Mozilla Stable PPA and this is big news with one less dependence on
a PPA. This is also good for Trisquel when they tweak Abrowser and can have
backported Firefox ready for Trisquel 4 and above.
Hi, megurineturilli. Is ath9k in the output of lsmod?
Does the the ath9k module load at all? Or did you build it into the kernel
when you compiled it?

I can confirm
By the way, I've been using kernel-libre 3.2 for the past few days, and I've
noticed a considerable performance improvement in my older hardware. An old
computer I have with an Intel i845 video device is now playing most HD videos
reasonably well.
For example, the HD Ogg Theora video file
ath9k is in trisquel kernel
(/lib/modules/2.6.38-13-generic/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k), and
probably is not in the kernel you're using. I think that's the problem.
I think jbar is probably right. You can still build the ath9k driver now and
load it as a module. The source can be downloaded here:
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/ath9k
Next time you build the kernel, if you use make menuconfig to generate your
.config file, you can go to the
You might be right although typically any distribution shipping a kernel =

:) I think the old system was better. The problem is everybody else moved.
Kinda forces things forward.
I think the way you don't break compatibility is to add Trisquel to the
string. Although depending on how sites do the checking you might get
identified as having an incompatible browser/operating system still. Ubuntu
isn't terribly well supported either amongst sites that do this kind of
Yea- I'm kinda leaning toward not doing it. I'm still waiting for the expert
for input. My main concern is *what* are we doing to improve ranking if we
eliminate all the things that would otherwise help to improve that ranking.
It may be we just need to focus more on getting linked from
I only read a brief description of what this is although can't imagine it
would cause a problem for non-broadband users. Is there no detection built-in
for these situations?
Does anybody know if the Ralink RT5572 chipset depends on non-free firmware?
I scanned the source code and there is a firmware file. I think what they are
doing is embeeding it. It has a copyright statment attached that I think adds
prohibitions that are unacceptable. I've heard of this
RT5370 doesn't appear to attach a copyright statement or restrictive license
