interface is not DOS, it's called Bash.
Linux isn't an operating system. Ubuntu, Trisquel and others are versions of
the GNU operating systems.
Try writing this in the command line (bash) and press enter:
sudo serv

Is this your first time with Trisquel or any other GNU/Linux operating
system? Its not DOS by the way. It seems your computer has booted into
"command-line mode" instead of a normal boot to graphical user interface due
to hardware incompatibilities.

Will the firmware allow users to modify their MAC address? A lot of
proprietary firmwares restrict this and changing MAC address would be useful
for me.
