You may be able to use one of Debian's kernels (they probably have something)
with Trisquel. Debian's also got a free software friendly kernel now
(although other parts of Debian aren't FSF complaint).
Rubén said the meeting would be on IRC. This is pretty typical.
Mageia has a good example on this:
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Meetings
It looks like Rubén is basically thinking along the same lines.
Just adding some informations:
For those that want to participate but don't know how to use IRC (for
example) you can simply fallow this tutorial :
http://trisquel.info/en/wiki/connect-trisquel-irc-channel
I will try to do that once everytime I find something useful :D Nice idea !
Yeah, I know.
I must've been feeling a little punchy after my insomnia night. I tend to get
all philosophical and opinionated, like a drunk guy.
Just remember... you heard it here first.
I'm trying to contact people who were interested in volunteering. :(
unfortunately it turns out to be more difficult to do that than anticipated.
3 / people an hour seems to be the limit and not every person is reachable.
I'll probably post a new forum topic as well.
Trisquel Community Volunteers
I'm sending out a notice to those who were interested in volunteering with
the Trisquel project. Unfortunately I am having difficulty reaching out to
those on the volunteer list (some people aren't allowing forum members to
contact them).
So here is the email

For most people all they can do is donate. Which is one of the reasons I
encourage it. Unfortunately not everyone is in a position to make a
significant donation. However any amount is still appreciated.
I'm sure you read the other thread. There may be a meeting on IRC. I'm going
to re-read
Yeah, I have no idea what's going on with the crowdfunding page.
Was this a joke?
:) I'd agree with you on this. It's not that great. At least not the last
time I checked.
Maybe you can figure it out and write up some clear, simple, documentation?
I already did, and to be honest it only confused me more (mainly the Ubuntu
documention since it is quite messy and outdated in most parts).
Take a look at Debian & Ubuntu's documentation. That should solve the
problem.
Quite right Dave Hunt. Thanks!
So if I understood right. One good step to help is (for example) to create a
documentation on how to create and submit a patch in order for those that
want to help (and know how to code) but don't know what, where and when they
must send the changes to do it easily ?
I think that the proble
I agree you with but I still have many concerns about Trisquel being based on
Ubuntu. Let me explain
- I'm also don't mind to not have the latest and greatest, but I except the
application to work and to be secure (receiving security patches then). And
as many of you may have already seen,
In the terminal:

I meant mainly development problems, which means lack-of-hands problems,
something that can either be fixed by volunteers or by improving financially.
Even if I love the volunteer community model I think that for a free software
project to be reliable it needs to be able to sustain at least a
Was wondering how one turns off or disables bluetooth services on
Trisquel 5.5?
I dont have bluetooth on my system nor will I need it.
Thank you
I'm wondering if you can clarify what you mean by "bottom-line problems." I
think the meeting will go more smoothly if everyone is clear about what we're
meeting about.
Do you mean:
* Bottom-line financial problems?
* Bottom-line development problems?
* Bottom-line transparency problems?
I'll try to address some of your questions and concerns.
* It is true that I'm not following the lists closely, I gave up on that long
ago. I rely on close hackers picking up important things for me to work on,
as I don't have the time to read all what happens here now that the community

To add to the links that Chris sent regarding involvement with Trisquel:

folks involved in the Trisquel project, other than Rubén. It also seems
as if it's possible for others to get listed on this page as they become

Oh, look, there's already a "Crowd Funding" feature on the Trisquel website:

I submitted one to be added that asks for $50,000 to hire a full-time

Re-executing the two commands I wrote for this thread, one can find out that
there now are 67 "associate members" (there only were 52 back then, September

BRL 25

CAD 135
SEK 290
MXN 1120
AUD 60

Dunno, if you say so I think there are reasons to do it. I have used QCad but
have never heard of LibreCAD though.
