Are you referring to the HP LaserJet 1020 Printer?
This printer will not work with Trisquel. It requires a driver plug-in and
non-free firmware which has to be downloaded separately. Nobody here would
recommend and it isn't ideal for GNU/Linux use in general because of these
problems.

I've been really happy to see the changes that I think are needed in
relationship to free software going mainstream. Some of it is just being
discussed and acknowledged now and other stuff is actually happening.
Trisquel for instance is switching to an LTS + backports system.

Hello,
I use the trisquel-mini_6.0_i686.iso as a live USB, 2D graphics are OK.
I installed xbmc with apt-get but when I launch it I get the error

Excellent speech, and good viewing all 'round!
Nonfree Javascript games are just as nonfree as Flash; the only difference is
that Javascript itself isn't nonfree. I really don't think steering kids
toward nonfree Javascript games is the answer to anything.
I also don't really think the appeal of embedded games is to play the same

web based games are problably popular because they can then go and talk to
friends on other os that can play the same games. also does not involve using
admin rights.

They consider FDL free if there are no invariant sections nor cover
texts and explain why they don't consider manuals with invariant
sections free. Several GNU packages have removed cover texts for this
reason.

This license notice in the manual (somehow missing from the copyright
file) explains it:

is that true and the package should not be available? or is the package

Here are some pictures of Rubén's speech at Libre Planet 2013:
The only way to improve Flash would be to contribute to Gnash's development.
There's not what you can do there. The best you can do is explain that Flash
is nonfree, spies on users, and is outdated, though some older Flash games do
work with Gnash (and a lot of Flash videos).

Here's the acrobatics I use from time to time. It requires no CD's, no USB's.
Just a working GNU/Linux system and an internet connection via ethernet card
that Trisquel supports.

When you're right right you're right. Here's a version with GPL applied.
The reason I didn't have it on there before was it was written as quick fix
for my one machine. I guess now that I've handed it out, the license becomes
important. The irony is, the GPL is longer than the software :-D

I solve partially the issue,of the download and upload.
I did purchased an old Cisco 2950 switch and a Cisco WifI router, I'm using

You had better use the GPL the right way, with a COPYING file and a preamble
in every source file.
I have a samsung S10 notebook which has similar behavior. Part of the
problem is that it has 2 backlight devices, and the intel one is the one that
actually controls the laptop. The other problem is that it has extermely
fine control. I can set brightness between 0 and 12000! I've found t
Thank you very much for the insights and suggestions! I'll try the Live CD

Hello Jodiendo. I would have thought that download/upload speeds were related
to your internet service provider.
I created a new profile, and disabled all of the extensions, plugins, and
language packs. None of these solved the problem.

I was unable to replicate your problem even without the delay.
Thunderbird at log in seems to work fine in xfce, lxde and kde on Toutatis.
You can try to disable all extensions and test by enabling one by one to find
which one might cause the problem.
You can also consider testing with a new
I originally encountered the problem in Cinnamon, but I tried Gnome Classic
and it persists there too.
I'm running XFCE. I keep thunderbird open at all times and therefore it boots
at restarts too.
I haven't had any issues.
I'd suggest trying to recreate the problem in another desktop environment and
see if it's specific to your desktop environment.
