Yes, you should follow those instructions. Go step by step testing those
things. When one of them doesn't work try another one and so on and so
forth...
Trying a new kernel should be the last one and it may not work or work as
you'd never seen before!
As mention before, run
$ lspci | grep VGA
The very first numbers (hex) you must keep them in mind and the run
$ lspci -v -s "Thenumbers"
Hi Guys, the graphical chipset is:
Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Thames [Radeon 7500M/7600M Series]
Do I still follow the instructions above to resolve resolution issues?
Or should I do something else as its an AMD chipset . . . .
Hi,
I have a thermal label printer (GoDex500). I'm looking for a program to
design label templates & print in batch based on a .txt, .xml or .csv file
with data (the data to be printed in certain fields of the design). The
printer comes with a proprietary program from the manufacturer (for
It really is a misuse of Javascript. I don't know what it's doing, but it
could be easily done with PHP, whatever it is.
If you can reach the blocked sites by their IP, then you could just use
another DNS provider. However whatever technical measure you use,
circumventing some censorship measure might get you in hot water with the
management...
Thanks. Looks fairly free to me, if a bit futurey (could be a good thing, the
arm and mali support parts)
Well, I consider requiring JavaScript to display (what at least should be) a
static page a failure.
I think it might be able to run my port of Linux-Libre [1], but there is no
free distribution yet with ARM support. I only have an A13 for testing, you
will need to compile the kernel from source for A10. Maybe one could start
with Arch [2] and upgrade to Parabola.

I've asked Improv developers for it compares with other such devices in terms
of freedom. I've also asked if it would work with fully free software OS.
So far they haven't given any clear answers. They've only confirmed that the
hardware accelerated graphics won't work, although that's some

You can use smth like Jappix with TorBrowser. Other way is to install TOR and
use it as proxy (Pidgin supports SOCKS proxy), or just start pidgin as
"torify pidgin".
i downloaded the tor browser but that just allow me to use the tor browser,
it doesnt let me use pidgin. it asked me questions like if i need a proxy,
like which ports are not blocked. if it use a firewall... now i can use the

Try out Tor:

Once you managed to connect to the tor network, there is no possibility for
them to restrict you.
Perhaps you want to set ClientOnly = 1 in your torrc since the college
network usage conditions might not allow you to run serv

How is JavaScript being abused in that page? I looked at the source and it
seems to be running AngularJS and jQuery which are both considered free
software under the MIT license.
Their other code (named app.js and controller.js) are not minified, so you
can take a look at the code if you wa
Thank you for the answer.
For some reason, I had the same problems in all distributions I've used
before (Slackware, Arch, Fedora...) before trying to be as free as in freedom
as I can.
So must I interpret that the firmware is not part of Linux ion general?
That MM means both left and right channels are muted, like explained in the
manual page. Press M to toggle, at least Master.
You're supposed to see that everything is just properly set up in alsamixer.
Now try to remember: when exactly did it stop working? Did you do something
at that time? installing updates / messing around with the kernel/the sound
configs etc.
Check this:
