Rockbox supports MIDI, but only through a non-commerical plugin. Is there a
player that can play it using a free plugin? Also, can MPlayer playback midi
(VLC can using FluidSynth plugin)?
http://www.fsf.org.in uses Plone, not WordPress. Where were you?
Greetings ladies and gentlemen.
I want to buy a particular printed book online because it is not in my
country and I don't want to support Amazon. Do you know a reliable store
where I could buy?
Thank you.
I've used AbeBooks and Alibris. You can search for books at
www.bookfinder.com and occasionnaly there'll be even other booksellers.
Good book-hunting!
I've had pretty good luck with Better World Books:
http://www.betterworldbooks.com/
The radio said ABEBooks is owned by Amazon. Best go to a local bookshop
direct.
If it must be online this store is highly recommended by WYK online culture
writers:
http://www.saltairebookshop.com/
For new books look up who the publisher is and buy direct from their website.

I have local bookstores but they have problems when ordering foreign language
books. Following your recommendations, I'll serch harder for a local
bookstore that could obtain those books for me. In case they couldn't, I will
rely on the online shops you recommend.
Thank you everyone.
Sorry for that mistake. Anyway, the point is that it appears with the globe
sign on the address bar instead of the lock that is seen with https pages.
I installed Blag Gnu and Linux on a new partition but can't see grub on boot.
Blag boots directly. I checked and found all my files were safe and could see
my home folder of Trisquel. Please help.
Have you checked if GRUB_TIMEOUT is set to 0 in the file /etc/default/grub ?
Okay, so, I followed those instructions, it said VERIFIED, then I shut it
down fully and waited about thirty seconds before trying to power it back on.
The screen no longer turns on. I think I bricked it.
There is only this line in the file.. 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=quiet rhgb'
Greetings ladies and gentlemen.
I've recently bought a Seagate Expansion portable drive (1 TB) and I have
problems in choosing the correct file system and pastition ID. (Formating the
drive)
I've currently selected ID 83 (linux) and ext4. My system recognize the
device with no problem,
In Germany you can buy printed books and support the FSF at the same time by
using http://www.bookzilla.de/ but I'm not sure if they provide international
shipping.
Can you see grub boot menu by keeping shift key pressed?
Well, try to add the following line:
GRUB_TIMEOUT = 10
After saving the file, run update-grub as root and then reboot.
I think NTFS is still the best choice. I also remember there was a tool for
Windows to read and write to ext-systems.
You might want to try Ext2Fsd. It is a driver for Ext2/3/4 supporting all
versions of Windows from 2000 to 8, and i think it's free software under the
GPL.
I agree. NTFS-3G is free software (GPL license).
You can use TiMidity++.
Yes, but it shows Blag only.
Blag is very outdated (although I think a new version is being developed). So
the grub is probably very old. Try booting a Trisquel live CD and running
`update-grub' as root.
Have you tried the increase screen brightness key as recommended in
the instructions for this eventuality? Fn+Home on mine.
This key might 'wrap,' i.e. go black just after you reach max, in
which case there's a command line fix also in the instructions.
Failing that there's a guide to
The same accessibility regressions I've reported with previous Trisquel 7
Alphas are still present in the one released aJune 27; There are two I forgot
to mention: When I launch synaptic, from the System Settings panel, and
enter my password, orca is silent for the entire session, even when
If you format your USB HDD ext3 then other people who use legacy
systems can access them if they search DuckDuckGo for
microsoft windows ext fs
apple mac os x ext fs
There's no need to compromise your own software freedom. I suggest
you recommend they upgrade to Trisquel as a first move as
Thank you so much!!! That was all it was. I'm really relieved.

Except the U/S Patent Office allowed M$ a patent on FAT on silicon
drives years after FAT was publicly available because a different
type of media constituted a novel step. At the time (early 90s IIRC)
M$ set the price as
As far as I understand, aloniv is searching for playing MIDI on a portable
music player.
You can consider playing MIDI files on an Android device. I found that
application in the F-Droid free software repository:
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=midifdid=com.midisheetmusic
He should first 'chroot' into Trisquel's root partition:

12)
Actually, I meant grub-install. Chroot is unneeded.

Thank you friends for the support. I had some ISO files of GNU\Linux
operating systems that I had downloaded to see how they work. Made a live USB
of one of them boot into it and now everything's fine. I installed it in the
smalll partition I had created for Blag.
I uploaded Abrowser 30 today with KDE patches (for 6.0).
I learn that Abrowser is about to be replaced by GNU IceCat. Will this patch
work with IceCat?

Thank you Magic Banana and Legimet. I am not interested in a touch based
device just simple software to run on a handheld player such as an iPod or a
Sansa device. My iPod already runs mostly free software as it runs Rockbox,
however in order to playback MIDI there one needs to copy some
I might have to tweak the helper ipc (kmozillahelper) a little. Icecat is not
in the official repos yet, so for now I'm just uploading Abrowser. I will
probably have Icecat+KDE patches ready before it gets into the repos.
