I don't think people need help (i.e. hosting companies) putting their e-mail,
photos, videos, calendars, address books, messages, documents (and whatever
else they might put on their server) to third parties. The Internet-using
public already seems exceedingly efficient at doing that. Rather,
I swear most of you free software evangelists are stuck in your ways with
viewpoints that are over a decade old. What is wrong with deploying a Docker
container on a hosting company if you have total control of that container?
I agree with fr33dom,
We should shy away from cloud-based computing because by promoting it, we are
promoting the control over others. Setting up one's own server and own
personal "cloud" is a way to fight this.

Again: "Onboard" and "Onboard Settings" are two different commands using the
same icon. That is the only repeated icon I see on the screenshot.
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash#Debug_Symbol_Packages
The reason why I am asking is because the old style debug packages are hacky
and bad. For example, the package libgl1-mesa-dri-dbg does not provide
debugging symbols for /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so
The Trisquel 6->7 upgrade method is documented here

But I don't know if it'll work with Triskel (KDE). So do those
backups quidam mentions in the instructions.

Same goes with Facebook and the btrfs filesystem. Many major improvements
have been made to it in the newer kernels as FB has someone on staff who
works on btrfs and pushes code to the main kernel.

It sure could. Quicktime is easily replaceable by HTML5, too. Perhaps that
iTunes thing you're talking about only works with the actual Quicktime plugin
and not the Totem Quicktime-compatible plugin (I don't know why it would,
digital restriction features maybe?), but provides an HTML5 interf
Keep in mind that half of these are not actually duplicates.
The ones that really are duplicates seem to be there because Trisquel uses
different programs by default than GNOME, and those that GNOME uses by
default are either required or recommended by various GNOME packages. Try

Go to the Tweak Tool (under system settings), Extensions tab, and enable it
there.
The Trisquel environment is started by trisquel-session, not gnome-session.
gnome-session is for GNOME Shell, which is the default GNOME environment.
Note: Sorry if I'm replying in the wrong level again.
Is there a way to update from 6.0.1 to 7.0 without having to
install it as a new system?
I sometimes check the repositories through Aptitude, and after
updating the cache twice (since in the first time I get an

Hi Kepeken
you were just right!
I have removed browser-plugin-gnash gnash gnash-common and the video is still

Thanks man! At least half of this mistery has been nailed!
Hi Kepeken
thank for you comment and for the suggestion
I will try to remove Gnash and see if Midori is still capable to play the
very same link.
Anyway your intuition could explain Flash but it will not explain Quicktime,
right?
I'll try and I'll give you feedback
Cheers
If you look at the upstream bug which will fix this it's scheduled
for inclusion in 14.04.2 which is due February 2015. The Trisquel
Issue is marked Upstream pending that.
The tp link wifi turned worse. It began to disconnect again and again. I
rather think it is a matter of distance between tp link router and computer.
I tried to make a 40mhz setting. Then the wifi could not connect. I tested
the lan cable connection tp link and computer again. It seemed to be
I decided to just uninstall gnash (as it seems to be inactive since early

Is it possible that Midori isn't just loading from HTML5? Because Abrowser

Well this is a fresh install of Trisuqel 7, and the only thing I've installed
extra is gnome-session and gnome-shell. (Well, a few other little apps, but
nothing that should cause this).
Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

I don't code in C# and mainly a Python guy on the desktop and server side,
but will this improve Wine and make it easier to port Windows programs that
were heavily dependent on .NET?
I'm also going with the angle of the ease of integrating with other FLOSS
software that may be GPL incompatible, but is still under a free software
license.

Hi
With gnome-shell on an installation trisquel 7.0, can not install the
extension 'Places status indicator' ; any idea ?
No, I have installed gnome-session because I do not want to use gnome-shell.

To test I installed gnome-shell and obviously it works well.
But I prefer Gnome3 trisquel sauce.
Hi Magic Banana
Thanks for the ansewer and for the suggestion but I have already in my

But they don't answer my question..
Why Gnash and Totem-Mozilla does NOT working in Abrowser while they are
working in Midori?

It is the fundamental issue:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=28291
Confirmed: the GNOME session perfectly works without GDM.
Indeed. You're definitely right on that point.
However, as I also mentioned, Chromium code includes unlicensed files, that
is to say nonfree files. This might be the important part regarding the
reason why chromium-browser is being removed by the trisquelize.sh script.
I have gdm install because I updated from Trisquel 6. I will try to remove it
and see. But I assume you selected the GNOME session to use GNOME Shell,
didn't you? So, you definitely need the gnome-shell package installed!

What is the problem? As long as the free software remains free software then
that is a positive.
Oh wait... you won't be happy until that piece of free software forces the
other bits to have their source code made open when its not supposed to be.

Did you install the gnome-shell package too?
Apple is at least as bad as Google, and Trisquel includes some Apple software

It is also possible to install a free BIOS on some old Macs[3,4].

Hi lap4fsf
I am with 7.0 trisquel original (recent installation).

So I installed the gnome-session package and reboot.
At login, I have the choice Gnome session and session Trisquel (default).
I choose Gnome session and I get .

Hi everyone
I'm a brand new Trisquel user.
I have found something that really puzzles me out.
On a fresh install of Belenos I'm not able to:

For the first one:
