I have this GNU Octave 3.8.0 installed in my Trisquel 7 machine along with
QtOctave GUI.
QtOctave, seems to be incompatibile with my Octave version, as my debug log
files have this entry
[FATAL:LINK] link*_* function calls from QtOctave x.xx.xx has incompatible
argument types. Design
:(
I am running Trisquel 7.0 LTS downloaded from
http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel-images/trisquel_7.0_i686.iso (verified with
md5 checksum and ok)
The manifest file:
http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel-images/trisquel_7.0_i686.iso.manifest shows
gparted 0.18.0-1 is included in ISO.
First I've
It actually worked for me on Trisquel 7 whereas it didn't on Trisquel 6, but
the solution is pretty simple: left-click on a video, choose Properties,
and go to the Open with tab. You have to do it individually for each video
type, but chances are you're only habitually watching a couple
Hey, I need to initialize a program that I'm developing with my friend
instead of the desktop environments such as KDE and GNOME, but I don't know
where can I edit this to inicialize our program instead desktop.
I'm making a console for my work school using trisquel and doing everything
in
I do not understand you problem. Why can't you execute your program from
withing a desktop environment?
The installer uses GParted to partition the disk. Most users do not need
GParted on their installed system. That is why GParted is not part of the
default install. It is not a bug. The users who actually need GParted know
what is partitioning, therefore certainly know as well how to install
because I need it to look like a console, but I will the trisquel system and
a computer to do this
Ah yes! I actually have done the right-click method before. Yeah you're right
about habitually wathcing a file format. Thanks!
From my information,
http://mirror.fsf.org/trisquel-images/trisquel_7.0_i686.iso.manifest conatins
all packages pre-installed (or say comes) with OS , so there must Gparted be
installed by Default! Isn't it?
Trisquel just as Ubuntu doesn't include gparted by default.
As Magic B. said, gparted is used during installation in order to create the
partitions, but when Trisquel is installed there's no gparted.
I would like it included just as I would like vlc, icedove, goldendict, xbmc etc
etc all
Have you tried thiss VLC ppa?

I just recorded and uploaded this video tutorial today:
https://goblinrefuge.com/mediagoblin/u/onpon4/m/tutorial-bypassing-javascript-requirements-with-inspect-element/
I think I'll do more, in particular one for YouTube, which I'm very familiar
with.
That was a very nice tut!
I was aware of how to get rid of various unwanted elements (using browser
extensions) but I hadn't realized you could change the display none thingy so
easily.
I always try to do without JS so this will come handy! Thank you!
No, what I mean is that I don't have the notify-osd on gnome-flashback like
before. I've uninstalled the notification-daemon just in case but it didn't
bring notify-osds bubbles back.
Any ideas?
Update: After uninstalling the notification-daemon now the bubble from
notify-osd appears when it feels to, but it doesn't show up everytime I use
the scroll to change volume: it seems random.
If no one have an idea of what could be ocurring I will post the issue as a
bug.
Nah, but I think I will be fine with onpon4's reply.
Just in case this didn't cross your path:
https://www.fsf.org/givingguide/2014/
It includes our favorite GNU/Linux operating system and features four
FSF-approved products from vendors whose representatives frequent this site.

New user:
Hey, sorry to ask so simple a question but: where is the
Install/Update/Remove in the menu in Trisquel 7.0?
I looked at the manual, and it seems to be old info.
Thanks,
Zem
Ah: found it.
Thanks.
I had the same problem in both Trisquel 6 and 7. I just uninstalled the
preinstalled video player so I didn't have to change the default application
for every format I use.
When I am on the start page in Abrowser and click on install GNU/IceCat
Gdebi starts but it is empty. I've been able to download some .deb files and
install them but some .deb files don't download but just opens an empty Gdebi
window. How can I fix this?
It's not supposed to be using GDebi. GDebi is for installing deb files, the
link in Abrowser for IceCat is a reference to a package in the repo. The
default program that apt links are opened with is Apturl-gtk, but it seems
installing GDebi screws that up.
Try downloading some GNU/Icecat .deb files and installing via terminal.
-CD to the directory of the deb files
-Execute sudo dpkg -i [DEB FILE]
If installation still doesn't work, you can try installing with the
source/using binaries at http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnuzilla/31.2.0/
sudo apt-get install icecat
Don't download some random .deb for something that's in the repo!
I thought it was a .deb file since Gdebi opened when I clicked on the link. I
solved the problem by uninstalling Gdebi. Thank you! :)
Created a bug report:
https://trisquel.info/en/issues/12944
You can either just do something like apt-get install icecat instead of
clicking on the link, or you can uninstall GDebi. Both of these work, though
the former is a lot simpler.
I uninstalled Gdebi and now I am able to install IceCat. Thank you! :)
A bit of a technicality, but it's GNU IceCat rather than GNU/IceCat (since
IceCat is a GNU package, GNU IceCat rightly imples that IceCat is from GNU
(well, the GNU project). GNU Linux would wrongly imply that Linux is from
the GNU project (it isn't).
Linux-libre, on the other hand, is a
