Firefox will manage its own updates independently of your system’s package
manager, an download subsequent releases. There will be no need to repeat the
whole “procedure”… Enjoy Firefox!
Thanks for the info. It's probably the easiest and simplest fix on the list.
Reading this, I see it updates

Just simlink SciTE to scite
Also this theme should fit great with FVWM.

Just install lxappearance to change it.
You mean like this?
ln -s /usr/local/bin/SciTE scite
ln -s /usr/local/bin/SciTE /usr/local/bin/scite
Intel Core i5 should be Sandy Bridge.

About LibretyBSD, I suggest you all to enable softupdates, specially on a
laptop with an external power source:
http://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq14.html#SoftUpdates
Also, if you are on a laptop, enable the APM daemon NOW.
As root:
# rcctl enable apmd
# rcctl set apmd flags

I don't think the OP has an ATI for he would have experienced the issue on
the Trisquel 7 default kernel too.

I tried #FSF, they told me I better try the softwares mailing lists. What is
that? I'm supposed to simply send a mail?
Like for IceCat: bug-gnuzi...@gnu.org
For Abrowser I have no idea, it's not in the FSF directory.
I can't seem to find info about it yet, besides it being an unbranded

Yes, I meant to type Sandybridge, not skybridge. Here is the requested

I am running a Trisquel package mirror (mirror.trisquel.de).
Currently it's taking 514G of hdd space.
SuperTramp83: Thanks very much. Good information. I still don't know if
Trisquel 8 will use a newer kernel or not, or if a free driver will be
provided to go with it, but I have a new (to me) resource to assist me

Version 38.8.0 was the last release of Firefox ESR in the 38.x series, and
after that Firefox 38.x became EOL. Firefox ESR has now switched to 45.x.
The stable Tor Browser switched to 45.x just after it was released. Looking
at the Tor blog, Tor Browser 6.0 was released on the 30th May 2016:
AMD have a commitment to 'open source', but not freedom. It is just corporate
propaganda they are spewing. For example they play up the importance of their
open source drivers, but they are unreliable and offer quite poor
performance, and all of the heavy lifting is done by a massive propriet
If it was in the hands the users, then it would be a really interesting and
useful system. It is basically an embedded computer. We could probably run a
small GNU/Linux system instead, or something entirely different like a true

Regarding the monitor, it does often depend on your hardware. For example I
have a Rasperry Pi and it is connected with a cheap HDMI-VGA adaptor to an
ancient monitor I found at the tip. There is a reasonable image but the
monitor is never detected. Sometimes generic stuff goes funny too, lik

Very well. Thanks to everyone. I understand and consider this issue
resolved.
I started to use Epiphany as alternative web browser due to the issues that
Midori generates me when I go to complex websites with an abusse of
JavaScript.
Even ABrowser does not generates me issues.
I personally can use a different browser without too much troubles since I'm
starting to know my way around the OS.
It's about the average users, not me: there's no way this type of users would
fix it by themselves.
