Can you shutdown properly using the Magic SysRq key method (if not please
enable it and try to shutdown using this method)?

Hello, I recently installed Trisquel 8, and when I try to shut down my
computer, it just restarts. I have this issue whether I shut down from the
GUI or the terminal. The problem started out as intermittent but now happens
every time I attempt a shutdown. I did not have this issue in
qpdfview

My experience with audio/video calls with XMPP/Jabber clients is that it
quiet often it doesn't work or it's very unreliable. I had much better
experience with Tox clients, such qTox and uTox. I've only tried those on
Parabola though and I don't even know if they are available on Trisquel
"atril" is the default PDF viewer in Trisquel 8.0 LTS, Ubunut-Mate and
Xubuntu changed it default PDF viewer to Artil on 18.4 release.
Another option will be "xpdf"
I'm searching for a good pdf viewer that can't handle javascript embedded in
pdf files.
The reason for this is to avoid exploits with javascript like Heap Spray.
I know that evince doesn't have javascript enabled but gnome developers want
to add this feature in future.

Files and directories beginning with a "." are hidden by default. You can
toggle the visibility of these files in your graphical file manager with Crtl+H.
