But also, QupZilla? It's Qt-written that's now Falkon with being merging with
Rekonq and Konqueror for the KDE project.
Then you will need to get whom Trisquel is marketed to. Just ourselves, but

Do you stand your simply "Ubuntu web browser" for this,

issues you mean.
Just have a free mind to try more simple mail clients, like Trojita
(independently Qt-written) and Balsa (written for GNOME but a bit smaller
than Evolution). I'm just heartbroken against Mozilla frameworks, I also
never run KDE apps unless w/o KDE deps.
To migrate the emails, I personally followed the most voted answer (using a
Python script) to that question:

Hi Ali, thanks for your efforts. Can you explain why you decided to set up
this new set of forums, when we already have forums for Parabola, Trisquel,
and general-free-software-talk? Just to be clear, I'm not implying having a
new set of forums is a bad thing, I'm just trying to understand

Find an instance that allows public sign-ups, then create an account there
just like you would for any other web service.

There are lists here that tell you which ones allow public sign-ups:
I used Evolution because I prefer to use the defaults whenever possible.
I have a few questions about migrating to Trisquel 8, which will involve
switching to IceDove.

How do we migrate our settings from Evolution to IceDove?

I'd also put a TV tuner on it, and find a way to integrate
RetroArch/MythTV/Kodi. This would make a beautiful, awesome
entertainment machine.
Which is great, because most TV set top boxes are nasty devices running
malicious proprietary software. The TV won't even stay on when you ask
it to! It
What I would do is this:
1. Get a small form factor desktop PC with HDMI out
2. Get a good USB gaming controller
3. Collect and install a bunch of good free/libre games
4. Configure all the games to work with the controller (this is the
hard part!)
5. Install
I didn't say "equally bad". I said "not much better".
I love you too :)
"No, if you run Windows in a virtual machine, it's entirely sandboxed from
the main system."
From the main system, yes. But the part that is not sandboxed is a whole
operating system you might use just like your normal computer. Over this
"virtual computer"
windows has the full power.
No, if you run Windows in a virtual machine, it's entirely sandboxed from the
main system. Also, it's a mistake to just assume that any sandboxed program
can't do anything malicious; JavaScript can, and often does, assist in

No, it's not the same as Gnome Web Browser (because epiphany-browser is
another package). It's a binary called webbrowser-app, and it has the same

I tried it on my Trisquel 8. It crashes every time before the window is

Even if we manage to reverse-engineer the proprietary games to make them

Forget the official repository, download the latest package from the

Whether you can flash coreboot depends not only on the motherboard
manufacturer. Don't you know the (in)famous Boot Guard?
Just find a compatible board with appropriate chipsets from coreboot's wiki
and search it on eBay or Taobao.

replacement
to Coreboot via software using for example flashrom..

Trisquel 8 only provides the game 0AD v0.20 (2016), currently the latest
version is v0.23 (2018).
Would it be possible to put it on the Trisquel repository ? (instead to have
to get it from the repository of OAD project).
(0AD project web site is : https://play0ad.com/ )
alyssa PM'd me on IRC, and told me there are recent 2-in-1 laptops

Thanks. At least I'm not alone!
I just though... If the GUI upgrader is complaining about something, won't
the command line upgrader run into the same problem? Because the GUI is just
a front-end that will ultimately be performing the same actions as the
command-line approach, right?
