When I use ath9k-htc, I always need to first create a hotspot, then disable
the hotspot and re-connect to WLAN. It's because that ath9k-htc firmware
(albeit free/libre) doesn't work with MAC randomization. And this is why I
always suggest that PCI/e-based ath5k/9k be used whenever possible
If there is only times.json in the default profile, then you use another
profile. You can list the profiles and start any of them by executing in a
terminal:
$ abrowser -P
By the way, if you choose another profile or create a new one, does the
problem still exist?

Generally almost all website should be viewable with Abrowser(firefox
based), if it doesn't it is the website's fault not
What do you get if you do:
$ ls ~/.mozilla/abrowser/f6ev4g1w.default-release
and then
$ ls ~/.mozilla/abrowser/y760ypce.default

addons?
Yes.
Thank you for a tip
~$ ls ~/.mozilla/abrowser/*.default
times.json

You were supposed to change "YOUR_UNIQUE_NAME" to the unique string of
characters in the name of your profile directory. Run
$ ls ~/.mozilla/abrowser/*.default
to see what it is.

I noticed this issue with my USB wifi on both my laptop and desktop. The
laptop uses trisquel 8 and kernel 4.4.0-186-generic while the desktop uses
Trisquel 9.0 and kernel Kernel 4.15.0-112-generic. I wonder if this has
anything to do with this bug:
As Chaosmonk said YOUR_UNIQUE_NAME is your unique profile id which seems to
be y760ypce
the path should be
~/.mozilla/abrowser/y760ypce.default/
Thank you all for answers!
cd ~/.mozilla/abrowser/YOUR_UNIQUE_NAME.default/
bash: cd: /home/san/.mozilla/abrowser/YOUR_UNIQUE_NAME.default/: No such file
or directory
cd ~/.mozilla/abrowser/
:~/.mozilla/abrowser$ ls
f6ev4g1w.default-release installs.ini profiles.ini y760ypce.default
You said you have "newly installed Trisquel 9", later it's revealed that you
have "privacy apps collection" installed. You added stuff on top of default
Trisquel install.
Anyway I found on the web what may be a solution:
in address bar type about:config
hit enter

~/.mozilla/abrowser/*/bookmarkbackups are backups. The current bookmarks are
actually in ~/.mozilla/abrowser/*/places.sqlite (a SQLite database).
If you have many of them, it could be a good idea to export them as json
files from the Library ("Show All Bookmarks") window.
It can also be
My bookmark backups are stored in my home folder under:
~/.mozilla/abrowser/123xyz.default/bookmarkbackups
If you have many of them, it could be a good idea to export them as json
files from the Library ("Show All Bookmarks") window.
But bookmarks are not in /home they are in browser Toolbar. I have no idea
how to download them all, they are a huge amount.
APT never touches anything in /home (including the personal settings).
You should complain to the administrators of the sites distributing nonfree

Thank you for the excellent news.
I am sure we all have found some website that is not viewable through Mozilla
based browsers. I was wondering if anyone also sees a difference when
browsing with text-based browser.
Having javascript restricted in your browser with noscript and/or librejs a
lot of sites look blank and
They are my standard privacy apps collection under GPL and MPL for any

What add-ons do you have? One of them may be malware.
Hi again. I have noticed the same problem (no internet connection) with the
kernel 4.4.0-186 even on an old 32 bit HP 510 notebook. On this notebook I
usually use a wireless N USB adapter for GNU/Linux model TPE-N150USB by
Thinkpenguin.com. Even this case I have removed the latest kernel and

Nothing in there looks problematic. All of those settings look redundant to
the defaults Trisquel already sets for Abrowser. I'm not sure where the file
came from though, as it does not look like Trisquel's [package helper][1] for
Abrowser creates it.
If you delete the file with

Hi to everyone. After an update I had no internet connection with the kernel

have removed the latest kernel and the desk pc now works very well with

I just asked quidam about this. Apparently, gnutls is supposed to be
backported from Ubuntu bionic, but since 3.5.18-1ubuntu1 in 2018 new versions
have not been getting automatically built. According to quidam it may have
been an issue with GPG keys. He says it is fixed now and an
Thank you for the link. The terminal steps listed solved the issue for me.

The version APT proposes on my Trisquel 8 system is
3.5.18-1-ubuntu1+8.0trisquel1. Is it because I have enabled backports?
There is no such backport in xenial-backports. In bionic-updates, the
version is 3.5.18-1ubuntu1.4, which indeed looks more recent than the one APT
proposes me.
