Is anyone able to download via torrents or is this a problem that only I

I may be saying the obvious, but are you sure you checked this option's
existence when logging in to "User Interface" (not "Webmail") ?
Yes, that's where I got these torrent files from. I tried downloading ISOs
then and also was able to get only ~100MB. I guess this is happens to
everyone.

Getting the ISO wasn't easy, no mirrors have even torrent files of this
beauty, I had to look for them somewhere else...

Oh, instead of messing with these settings, a wide wallpaper could have been
used - the one I attached is located in /usr/share/images/desktop-base/ and
is called gns-inside-wide.png (the default one which gave so much trouble is
called gns-inside.png)

The wallpaper does have a logo (attached), it's just covered by the bottom
panel by default. Plus, the graphical installer has one.
