Yes I do. I was responding to the overbroad I know VP8 is pretty good, but
not as good as h.264.
VP8 is solidly better than h264 baseline profile, but the bar was moving to
high profile at release so it still remains competitve there. So I was only
responding to the overbroad comment. :)
dadix: t3g most probably uses https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere -- I think
you should try it.
Speaking of codecs, do anyone here know about Daala? https://xiph.org/daala/'
Daala is the code-name for a new video compression technology. The effort is
a collaboration between Mozilla
We know[1][2]. But the codec will be ready only in 2015~2016[3][4].

It's a shame that Daala is taking a long time because the longer it takes,
the more H.265 and VP9 become standardized and they gain the majority of
support. I do like that VP9 is getting a lot more support than VP8 (from your
trustedreviews.com link) and aims to be open source and royalty
Pretty sweet!
That's cool. How good is VP9, anyway, compared to the patented codecs people
usually use? I know VP8 is pretty good, but not as good as h.264.
I found this:

I found this comparison between h264 and vp9:

Had to correct you. I always use HTTPS whenever possible. :-)
not as good as h.264
Beware people spreading falsehoods.
Well, that's what VP8's quality is like as far as what I've read suggests.
You did see that this statement is about VP8 and not VP9, right?
Abrowser 28 is coming with VP9 support by default and Opus codec support in
WebM: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/28.0/releasenotes/
:-D
You can try VP9 with this video:
