well the extra 25 EUR overhead is paying for convenience... of having

In my country these type of routers is so cheap
and Still in the box (un use)
Really? I got mine for 40$?
In any case Leah's new price tag isn't too far out of my interest if I need
another one. :)
I think that will do well for people. I like that idea. I am sure people here
will buy more now!
Price is now reduced. Was 98 EUR, now 50 EUR. This is the final price
reduction.
Hey everyone :)
I listened to feedback, and concluded that the price was still too high.
Therefore, I've made a final price reduction: the router is now 50 EUR on
Minifree.
I got mine for 20$
and install librecmc myself
Good to know.
minifree doesn't currently accept bitcoin
If MiniFree also offers Bitcoins payments it isn’t that hard to get, unless
you nation doesn‘t have Bitcoin ATMs at all.
But also, any libre NAS aka mini servers, technically named network-attached
storages?
Ah, thanks for clarifying. It is a shame though that you don't have a
disributor to buy them from who lives in america to send them to you for a
good price. :(
I thought that was the case though.
Apparently, u-boot can be upgraded within LibreCMC if you build the correct
image (if the default build does not already support this - I do not know).
Hopefully, the minifree versions will support this feature (and provide links
to working u-boot images).
one other thing... these routers are really hard to get in europe. most of
them are in USA. so I import them in bulk from suppliers in the US. This
means that european customers who buy from minifree won't have to deal with
expensive USA-European shipping. Plus UK-European shipping is much
The wndr3800 as sold by Netgear already has a free bootloader (uboot) and
they provide source code. This can also be replaced by uboot_mod, but
freedom-wise this is unnecessary, though it may unlock more features. I'm
currently waiting on a large shipment of these routers, and I will be
does the original one not have a free bootloader? If so, you are correct.
Interesting, I had no idea. I wonder if it is more expensive in other
countries...
Just so you know, wdnr3800 has only two versions. Both supported, one is
china and one is not. Unless they made new ones since I got mine.
Does librecmc remove all blobs from it? just wondering.
Well yes they are refurbished. It's not possible to buy these routers new
anymore. However, they're in excellent condition. Routers tend to last many
years.
Yeah the price isn't that much higher than if you were to buy the router
yourself. If you're lucky you can get it for like 80 EUR. But then you have
to source it yourself and make sure it's the right version (not all of them
support libreCMC. minifree makes sure to get the ones that are
The price.. good Lord
At first glance the price does indeed seem expensive. However, when searching
online for the price, it seems that this router is sold new for at least 139
dollars, so minifree's product is competitively priced.
That's odd, 98euros seems like alot...
Not trying to be rude,
I got mine for less. Of course I did install librecmc myself, but it wasn't
really hard.
I am puzzled.
Either way, there are a lot of those routers. So it does make sense to sell
them with librecmc on them.
;)
