To see a list of all installed packages, use the command: dpkg --get-selections You will get a list of packages. Packages with "install" (or whatever it is in your language) are fully installed on your system. There may also be other packages that you removed, but those will be marked with

Hi there, I'm wondering what the quickest way to check on whether a certain package/software is installed on Trisquel 8.0. I don't even know if this the correct terminology, please correct me if so. I want to know whether Java is installed.
