There are lots of songs that tell stories...the problem is, the best of them are older, pre-video era. There's not a lot of good story-telling songs that have been put to interesting video, unless it's just live performance videos. After a good couple of hours' worth of thought, these are the best
The first video that popped into my head is a current hit - Call Me
Maybe, by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Anthony Bourdain will have a new TV destination starting next year.
The chef/author/globe-trotting TV host has joined CNN and will host a
new prime-time weekend series that will debut in early 2013. The show
is part of an effort to broaden the news channel's weekend programming
and set it apart
If you were looking for story songs (video element aside), you could do far
better from the Harry Chapin catalog than Cat's in the Cradle. That's
arguably his most famous song, but it's generally a pastiche of getting
older rather than a straight up story. I'd have gone with W*O*L*D,
Sniper,
So...CNN is trying to become MORE like MSNBC (and, to a lesser extent,
Current)?

Jim Paratore came to Warners when Time Warner bought Lorimar-Telepictures
in the mid-90s and merged it into WB Television (along with his network
programming counterpart at Lorimar Les Moonves)--among the many series he
developed for Warners were Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres' talk shows
He'll also, per this report, contribute to other CNN programming.
I wonder if this will include the political kind...

I liked the most recent/final installment because it brought the
series closer to the Parker novels. I realize they were never going to
be identical (the novel Jesse is a young kid, and the PPD was larger
than four people), but things started to take a turn when they veered
away from the books
I'm sure there are fans out there, but is he really a big get for
CNN? I just don't see him drawing in viewers.

Considering that the broadcast nets have pretty much gotten out of movies

I sense that they're trying to get back to the early CNN, when Elsa Klensch
and Showbiz This Week and Valerie Voss' travel show, among other taped
shows, were linchpins of the weekend schedule. Of course, this was when
they did actual news every hour--and no one does that anymore on weekends
