The sample resource is just that, a sample. The default access level quite a lot of data. You can also request a higher sample (the "gardenhose") if your project needs a higher proportion of the statuses. Allowing a geo predicate on the Streaming API would be very useful thing indeed. -John Kalu

yup! the geo tag should be available and populated via the streaming API -- http://stream.twitter.com/1/statuses/sample.json gives a sampling of all the public tweets, and that should be enough to get most projects/visualizations off the ground. You could look at the Streaming API, more s
