Hello list,
Yesterday I updated my installation of TYPO3 (4.0.4 -> 4.1). In the
first login I was advised to change the compatibility mode trough
running the Update option in the Install Tool, which I did.
In the Update process, I checked the box to show me the queries that
would be performed
I did that a little bit ago, and yes it was closer however then it tried to
always show a second level menu. The goal is to only show the second level
menu when your on a second level page. I think that this is just biting me
because of the length of this project, and how under the gun we are. I'm
what happens if you break it into two different menus? One for the top
level stuff and one for the second level stuff - then add them together
in a COA?

If you use Typo3 4.1 you should uninstall and delete local version of
extension rtehtmlarea, and then install it again - after deleting
htmlarea will install as system extension.
Mentioned file (htmlarea.js) is located under in directory:
/www/www.ais.pl/typo3_src-4.1/typo3/sysext/rtehtmlarea/html

If you are using newloginbox, it is doing the trick. If you are logged
in, the page works as log out. If you need a seperat menuitem, you can
create a page which is only open when you are logged in, with
newloginbox. It will then be the logout page.

I'm sticking with htmlarea so long as a patched update is TERed soon, so as to
work in FF. I've had more problems with tinyRTE than htmlarea.

Shouldn't I be able to see that in my PHPinfo? I can't find it and I do
not have access to the phpconf. So are there any way to fix it or shall
contact the hosting company?

i posted a fix for this on http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4870.
The error is there because the browser detection of rtehtmlarea does not
work right in this case.
