Hi Jeff -- If I am recalling IBM's response to that correctly, it was
strictly a marketing decision -- people don't like adopting dot-oh versions,
so now they don't have to.

UniData has always considered .0 releases as beta versions. FCS has
consistently been a .1 release except for 4.0, but that ought really to have
been treated as a bet
IIRC, an edict was issued that said 'there will be no more x.0
releases'. The alleged rationale was that customers were leery of ".0"
releases.
We the customers are of course too stupid to realise that

George,
If you need to go down the program path, to easily convert all your
paragraphs to call to a program, you could rename the UV LIST command
UVLIST and create a BASIC PROGRAM LIST which wraps an execute of the
UVLIST arguments command and then processes the results as you wish.
Very easy. The

Windows is case insensitive for the username. What case was used when
you created the user in windows, whether as a domain user or as a local
user on the UV server? That is the case that shows in the user name

I don't know if this will / will not work for UV, but, an old PICK trick is
to set the TERM depth to '0' temporarily. This works on UniData so it
should work here too. As this disables pagination, it can only be used for
less than a screens worth of data.

Rudy,
If you want the user names reported consistently, there is a registry
setting to ignore the domain prefix (particularly useful for migrating sites
from UNIX).
Start Regedt32, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\UniVerse\CurrentVersion and add a new DWORD
key:
UseShortUserNames 0x
use "sudo" .. it allows you to setup users to run commands with other users
privileges ..
ie: "sudo kill 12345"

George, If you CAPTURE the output to a variable you can modify the LIST
results. I can even have a routine to move 'F'oward or 'B'ack and display
your LIST results.

This would be from a Paragraph, so I can't do an execute and just remove
it from captured data.

Hi
Test to see that you have your date format set correctly. As you have it
in the example it is in international format, yet by default UniVerse is
in American format. You can change this by running a DATE.FORMAT from
TCL.
