Thanks David, The attributes ATT2 etc, I used are defined as single-valued D types. I have also tried using the keyword 'SINGLEVALUED'. It (UV/SQL) just seems to be aware of the multivalue marks and won't clear them. For the moment I have gone with creating a new item and updating it with the

Hi Stuart No doubt, this is a feature (of some description)... Are these associated multivalues? Maybe use the UPDATE.RECORD verb - I realise you want to use the SQL UPDATE though! :) But sometimes, it is to painful for simple stuff, like what you're trying to do! Regards David -Original
