I do this using Accuterm to view/edit/print an rtf formatted document from a
PC, but instead of Word I associate Wordpad with .rtf extensions, so that it
still works if Word is not installed on the client PC.

Could you not execute a statement to print the document by Word? You
would have to have it installed on the server and perhaps pay attention
to concurrent access but I would think that would be easiest.
Depending on your terminal emulator you should also be able to use the
