I believe it has to do with setting the 'sticky bit'. If I do a list of my list_readu I get the following; [EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# ls -al list_readu -rwSr-x--x1 root bin 1281596 Feb 19 2004 list_readu The 'S' sets the effective user id as root to anyone who runs the command. I
