There's a solution to #1. For some reason, after hardy, the way opacity is handled in metacity was changed. This is easily fixed by enabling "metacity_theme_shade_opacity" in gconf's /apps/gwd. Setting opacity to 1 in inactive shades would work as well. #2, as you said would require some work. Eit

After using it a bit and giving it to my mom and younger sister to you, the tiny _[]X buttons became a really big usability problem. The Human buttons were nice a big, and these are so tiny - they're actually having troubles clicking on it (and much frustration at not being able to do such a basic
