theme. Starting this weekend I want to begin in force. We will take in
everything from all perspectives and hopefully deliver an awesome
theme.
I really dont care how long people have been here so much; it seems
like this Art Team is incredibly unorganized and has never done
anything to the point of redesigning everything. Our icons were
boughtl the font comes from upstream; and the theme is lackluster.
I hope no one is offended.

Art Team-
So I think we see the need for guidelines, restrictions, and the like.
Mark has not given the sort of input Cory noted we need to be
successful. We have the wiki page that has guidelines, but it is
rather informal. We need something like this:

Well, for one, the current theme doesnt use a prominent brown- its an
off white. I still think we should use an orange/brown combination,
but I am at lost about how to implement it. With the current theme, it
is easy to change the colors if you are looking for it. GO to

This is good looking... I love your metacity/windows border in the second

Hey guys-
If everything works out with licensing, I say that we should make the Droid
fonts default for all fonts system wide. They look awesome. I have replaced
fonts system wide, including Firefox with Droid, and web pages look better,
things are more readable, and actually, I think it looks bet
Well the windows buttons would have to go, and the colors would have to be
different. Ken and I discussed, along with in put from Shuttleworth, having
a lighter theme and a darker theme. Mark wants to retain most o the colors
from the current Human for the lighter theme...
Keep on working though. I
These things are not art related... ou would have to bring this up with the
other development teams if we decided to include more wallpapers.

Thanks Kenneth - I think if it will be open source, we should use it as the
system font, and then use Liberation for the sans, serif, and mono fonts
system wide.

I had seen the fonts on systems, but not actually used them.
I am the layout editor for my school's residential magazine, and have taken
many GD courses. Fonts like Segoe and Myriad are very pleasing, and are
becoming more popular in daily use. While it is good to mix fonts, we need

I just looked at them... not so good for a system font. Any suggestions
then? I think something open source that looks like Segoe UI or Myriad Pro
would be great...

OK so I vote to use the Liberation fonts at least no matter what theme, and
improve the icons significantly no matter what theme. Also, I think we
should maybe have some sort of voting system and a better way to get the
opinions of the Ubuntu Community in general.
Who votes for Liberation fonts?
This is not a progression. It isn't even that different. The problem with
Ubuntu isn't the color, which has been made worse with this Alpha. Its the
widget style, which is flat and outdated. Its the fonts, which need to be
updated and can be done so with open source fonts. Its the icons, which look
