I listened (read) with rapt attention to the Ubuntu Netbook Remix (UNR) QA
session of Ubuntu Developers' Week on freenode this last week and I'm now
considering purchasing a netbook for my wife and one for my daughter. I've
glanced over the UNR website and like what I see. My questions to the
Missus went with an Asus eeepc 901 and we put on eeebuntu, I don't know the
differences/similarities to UNR, but it is very good, about 10min to install
from her USB stick, boots really fast, everything worked after install, even
has enough space to put the bars top and bottom like she has on her

It works great on the 1000H because of the 10 screen. The 1.6 GB Atom
processor is responsive and runs cool. In comparison the Asus eee pc
I've got an Acer Aspire One, I love it. 1.6Ghz Intel Atom, 512Mb RAM,
8GB SSD, similar specs to the eee I think.
I don't run Ubuntu on it though, but I did use an Intrepid Live USB as a
host to install Gentoo. Everything I tested worked out of the box with
Ubuntu though, SDCard/wireless/sound3D,

The local Harvey Norman has advertised some eeepc's on sale for the next week.
I think I'll create a live USB image of Ubuntu (can I create a live
UNR?) and see if they'll allow me to boot into it. I'll probably take my wife
down to pick between the 900 and 1000
