there was an unofficial (and also unmaintained) UEC pack for Kubuntu appeared

I believe you are talking about UEC pack. It is not available for
Kubuntu. Also, the project is not very active now-a-days. Instead use
VLC or MPlay

I made a little mistake in the subject. I'm facing problem in actually 9.04
version in UAC pack. Hope i clarified it now.
