I intended a full installation but the upgrade window only offered an
update, a reinstallation of 10.04 and an installation beneath 10.04, so
i thought it was the usual way to go. But i will take another look and

Could this be something like bug #781815? Can you describe some steps to
reproduce the problem? I'm having similar issues since upgrading to
11.04, but they are similar to #781815, yet this bug describes something
that also happens in the same situation as #781815

I can confirm this bug; Unity, on the desktop, sucks.
There needs to be a more intuitive way to find the equivalent of Gnome's
Preferences and Administration.
Removing Gnome desktop was a big mistake.
The patch I recommend is to going back to Debian.

Yes, I noticed.
I compiled up a lucid kernel - 2.6.34, runs fine on natty. Strange
thing I see is that the ACPI reported power usage is the same on my
laptop, about 19 - 21 watts, yet I get 3.5 hours on that kernel
instead of the 2.1 hours on the natty kernel or the 2.6.39 source from
the linus

$LANG implicates a language that uses input methods. Since LANG is used
for formats (date, numbers, etc), this seems wrong.

Following your suggestions, I modified my /etc/network/interfaces
added the STP options to my test environment. Following that, I am now
able to ping to the remote system using the following bonding modes :

* alb (6)
For unknown reasons, I'm still unable to use
This can be closed as I have solved the problem by making a new firefox
profile, importing bookmark backup and avoiding the installation of
google toolbar. I am not certain but I think this add-on must change the
location of the bookmarks in some way.

If you run sudo dpkg -i *.deb on the folder with contains the desktop
integration .deb file, it'll be installed without any other problems.

Login screen is everytime OK. But I have to choice safe mode. When I
choice ubuntu ( Unity ) system halt after draw panels on top and
botton of screen and left panel ( new in Unity ) wint some icons and

Upon installing thinkfan, nothing happens any differently.
Running thinkfan produces the following. I think the necessary modprobe mods
are needed as part of the package installation.
(Alternatively/as well, I think it's a bug on my Lenovo
searching about libgtk3.0-bin into nautilus system files: found
nothing

libgtk-3-bin failed to install/upgrade: diversion of /usr/sbin
Your correct, the problem was probably unofficial packages.
As for the update-manager crashing, can you boot the live CD again and
see if you can reproduce the problem? If you can, start a new bug
report. You can link me to it if you want.

Daniel, your version seems to crash unity when I enable/disable a plugin
and it is not auto respawned neither.
