If they Unity designers said The launcher is only for launching -- I
might disagree, but I'd understand. It would be viewed like the list of
apps in Android or iOS.
But when you say the launcher is for launching and spreading
applications -- and then it supports quicklists..then the message is
+1 for this issue. For me it happens on Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 with
Thunderbird 17.x. Essentially, all pop-up dialogs happen on monitor 1
when Thunderbird is running on monitor 2. Other programs do not have
this problem.

There is a workaround for this issue which is to leave one of the
monitors unplugged until after login. It's lame, but it will allow one
to boot and then work within a multi-monitor setup. I get this error
with Intel Video 4000 when driving two monitors via HDMI and VGA
simultaneously.

In Ubuntu 12.10 the default behavior when inserting a CD (or a USB
memory stick, etc.) is to add a list of mounted devices to the launcher.
This takes up a lot of extra space for me as I usually have several
Samba mounts. Furthermore, I don't need or want to see my CD in the
workaround is to install cifs-utils and do something like this:
sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.0.1/USB /home/user/USB

For me, I haven't touched track in 2+ years because it never really
worked. I assumed it was dead. Now we have zeitgeist and zeitgeist-
fts fwiw. If it were me, I'd remove it from the software center. I
know its not dead, but its barely breathing:

Chromium from the software center a new launcher icon was placed on my
launcher. This icon will launch chromium, but does not use the chromium

Good News! The new nVidia beta driver 295.17 works! I tried it under
oneric x86 32 bit with a GE Force 7400 Go card that has been blacklisted
for Unity 3D and compiz for some time.
I installed the beta version via the xorg-edgers ppa here:

I would say that 25% of the time I submit a review I get this error.
Then if I try again, I get the user cannot submit more than one review

On numerous occasions I have search for an application in Dash and
exited when no results appeared...only to later see the application in
Dash. Over time I figured out the Dash searches can be slow, especially
the initial ones. This is very confusing given that search
I am running Unity 2D on version 11.10 on x86.

no custom icon on
am embarrassed to say the problem for me was that I was running unity
2d. I assumed it would run 3d because I always ran compiz in the past.
Also, it was difficult to find out which I was running as they look very
similar. It turns out my nVidia card was blacklisted because of Unity
freezing
Affects me as well. Took me forever to figure out i was running Unity
2D instead of 3D as I've never seen Unity before and they both look very
similar.Please, lets get some movement on this issue.

I am seeing the same behavior. I am using an nVidia graphics card with
the proprietary driver FWIW.
