I've been experiencing the same issue intermittently on a Lenovo
ThinkPad R500, and the frequency seems to have increased to
approximately once a day since upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04. Stopping and
starting the network-manager service (service network-manager stop
sleep service network-manager
This doesn't seem too difficult to fix. All the jaunty source package
does is include 'debian/debhelper.in/llvm-gcc-4.2.links' (attached).

Ricardo's fix got the touchpad working for me (Lenovo ThinkPad R500), but
edge-scrolling was disabled. So instead I just reloaded the psmouse module
(i.e. without the proto argument), after which the touchpad worked perfectly:

I can confirm that killing krunner fixes this, disabling KRandR does
not. Also, the bug only seems to occur while the mouse is moving (screen

2:2.1.1-0ubuntu9 on gutsy. The only line of debugging output I get from

My workaround was similar to Nicolas'. Instead of uninstalling-
reinstalling, I just did:
sudo rm /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/imageconverter.desktop~
