According to my googling an mpga file is simply an mp3 file with a
different extension - standing for Moving Pictures Group Audio. In
/etc/mime.types it is listed as audio/mpeg mpga mpega mp2 mp3 m4a

Works for me however this could be an upgrade issue, It requires

It translates to the same layout in the terminal too so I'm guessing
it's an xorg problem, failing that it may be a debian-installer bug.

I'd guess that your BIOS is set to GMT+8 rather than GMT. If you right
click on the clock in the top right corner and choose change date and
time then press synchronise it should set ubuntu to be the right time.
You can also use the synchronise with internet clock functionality
there.
