Have you tried to run 'fdisk /mbr' from either the $indows fdisk
or the GNU fdisk? This would restore one of the older MBRs and
then you might be able to install a new grub.
I tried this from the live cd but it didnt work
If that doesn't work, you should try chrooting into your environment
Also, if I do not install kubuntu but install the standard ubuntu, do I
get an option to choose KDE as the default window manager in the
sessions menu? This is because I have Intrepid with Gnome, and do not
want to go through downloading kubuntu, and hopefully adding KDE will
not take too
I had installed a few distributions to compare with Ubuntu and one had
installed an older version of GRUB. When I removed it, that GRUB
ceased to work and when I tried to reinstall GRUB from my Xubuntu
alternate install disk it did not work.
What do I do now?? I am writing this from XP which I
but then how will we able to know the nity-grity of ubuntu and its kernel??
Well firts of all if you are trying to install KDE from other packages
the paths might differ if that distro was not derived from debian so
you might have a headache installing them
Next even if you manage to install it
