So to sum things up: if you are having this problem, put /boot
on a normal partition that is not a MD RAID or LVM volume.
I have /boot mounted as an ext2 on an ordinary non-RAID, non-LVM
partition (I used the guided - set up encrypted lvm system install
option of the alternate
I see this bug and it appears minutes or hours after activating the
banshee plugin. Not having the plugin enabled I don't see the problem,
so in my case it's definately the banshee plugin. (on x64 lucid, but I
had the same problem on x86 karmic with ubuntu-provided versions).

Sheldon, that's quite interesting. I did the same test with a Thinkpad
X300 which uses the e1000e module for ethernet. Instead of draining the
battery about 80% in 3 days, the battery lost only 3%. Finally, a
solution - at least for me, hopefully this will be helpful to others
too.

against trunk, which is obviously wrong when filing against a Ubuntu

I'm seeing a variation of the two bugs: first the text is below the
entry field, then, following the input of on invalid password, both the
text and the entry field 'jump up' and now the text is displayed in the

Devicekit-power has been renamed to UPower. Devicekit was used in karmic
to initiate suspend and hibernate but is now only available as UPower. I
toke a try at adding support for UPower but I ran out of time testing it
- I don't do C# mainly so I haven't set up a proper dev enviroment for
it yet.
Marking this as Fix released since a newer version, that includes the
upstream patch, has landed in lucid via LP:502775

Paul Larson: bug is fixed for me with the current karmic version 0.5.8.
That version is also HEAD of the bzr trunk as of October 1st. So I would
say the fix has made it into karmic.

Sorry for asking this just now and not earlier, but would it be possible
to add chm support as well? I've patched okular on my system to support
epub and chm. And while epub has problems with some files (just one
empty page, same what humufr sees) but chm support works well. I can
attach my patch.
kchmviewer 4.1 has arrived in Debian: http://packages.debian.org/sid/kchmviewer
So a sync with Debian should resolve this bug, no?

further than that due to time constrains and me being relatively
inexperienced in terms of routing tables and whatnot, also

As far as I understand Danny he is having the same problem I had: when
an iPod is attached applications like Rhythmbox or Banshee show the
device and display the tracks on the device as they are listed in the
iPod's database. The applications access the files on the device through
the iPod's
I don't know about Exaile (never used it) but there is the fix for
Banshee I mentioned and for Rhythmbox it's sufficant to disable the iPod
plugin and enable the 'Portable Players' plugin instead.

Thanks for the patch. I've followed your instructions and tested booting
with both physical discs and booting with one disc detached. The second
test failed, the system would just stop like it did without the patch.
Unfortunately I know next to nothing about udev, initramfs and friends
so I
I thought I waited long enough - I had read that comment about the 180s
delay - but I didn't. I just tested it again and booting with a detached
disc continues after 3 minutes. Even mail notification worked right away
:-) After re-attaching the second drive I was dropped into the BusyBox
shell.
