(http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/tribe3) which is scheduled till today and
see if the problem is there (it probably will, gutsy is using the 2.6.22
kernel). You could get a kernel developer in the kernel-team to look at

Actually, it's the system-bell that causes the flashing. When I turned
off the notification in Evolution, the flashing stopped - even when I
recieved email.
The flashing also happens when my nick is highlighted on irc (xchat). I
have told it to use the system bell.
