Today I tried WPA protected wifi: it connects, but disconnects a random
period after to never connect again. Only solution is to shutdown. I
installed wicd in place of network-manager but it keeps disconnecting

I play a module, it plays ok at first then after 2 minutes, the sound

Ok, the PC owner brought me the PC because the PSU blew up. I replaced
it and installed Lucid. Unfortunately, I have no wi-fi here to test the
problematic card. I'll bring the PC to a wi-fi enabled place to try the
connection tomorrow. I'll report results here.
