I got about 5-6 of these after a suspend-resume cycle. No idea what
happened. My computer is fine afterwards.
Note: this computer freezes every once in a while. I did a RAM check and
changed the disk recently, so I doubt the freeze is hardware related.

I did a fresh install out of today's live cd (20100416, amd64) and then
updated packages (apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade). After
rebooting, the kernel consistently got stuck after listing USB devices.
I tried both normal and safe mode.

When I did the upgrade, I chose to replace eclipse.ini with the version
supplied by the package. I did that because of the fix released claim

I've just updated to 3.5.2-2ubuntu2 and now Eclipse freezes when loading
the workspace -- I suspect it freezes when trying to create the
xulrunner view.
I tried to create a new workspace, to make sure that's not the problem.
After choosing a blank workspace (non-existent directory), Eclipse now

A possible fix is to write the log file to /var/log/usb-creator.log
instead of ~/.usb_creator.log if the user is root.

think that would be the platform install; a bit more than RCP). This base
wouldn't be update-able -- updates would install, but wouldn't be picked up by

JDT is very easy to install using P2 (Eclipse's new package manager.) So
I think the only component that needs to be included in the .deb is the
platform, and the nice .xpm icon. As far as I know, the platform isn't
update-able
@Simos Xenitellis: pointing fingers at another group is corporate and
not as helpful as real action. Please, at the very least, admit that
Eclipse is unmaintained (and nobody is willing to fix it), and remove it
from the list of packages.

Please do not disable gem update --system. I use this to bypass the
problem discussed above, and get gems on my server's path.
