I've tried to use the network manager static configuration link to
network-admin in feisty (x86 up to date), to set up an static ip and see
if the new funtionality in network-manager worked, but now network-admin
crashes on startup without an error and network manager

This is still happening in herd3. I've also booted fedora core 7 test 1
live cd and it has the same issue.

Some thoughts ... since festy will support network roaming, this could
become a great pain... imagine everytime you roam having to enter your
keyring key.
