This is most likely a cupsys issue, not a gutenprint bug. Gutenprint
plays no part in managing the CUPS print queue.
To get more information, set LogLevel to debug in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf,
and see what is getting stuck.

Public bug reported:
This is a request to sync a NEW package that has never been packaged in Ubuntu
before.
The package:

I recall that Colin told me this is usually unneccessary, but since the package
is most probably going to need work
Hmm... in that case I'm not sure what the underlying reason is. I'm
attaching a backtrace of the segfault in the Edgy Ekiga, hoping that
that'll be useful.
By the way, this is on an HP nx6125 laptop with a Turion processor (i.e.
AMD64).
Please let me know of any other information that might be us

Have your tried with the newer "Gutenprint" driver? This is the package
cupsys-driver-gutenprint (in dapper and edgy only). It has much
improved colour quality.
The escputil tool will let you print a test pattern out to check for
blocked nozzles in the printhead. It will also do head alignment

and with it blacklisted, the system boots and runs fine.

Marc, I think the bug you're seeing is different from the one I
encountered. I believe the bug that I saw was a problem with my
initramfs; it seems like it was corrupted or something. It sounds like
your problem is more like a kernel/driver issue.
I suggest another bug report be opened for the i

Binary package hint: libxine-main1
There is no way to make libxine use artsd for its output on dapper. It worked
fine in breezy.
This affects many KDE multimedia apps. Kaffeine e.g. is practically unusable

I guess it was misfiled, then. If you know where it should go, please help me
out,
