Yupp, still got it in 2.6.15-26, too (on T60).
With -386 it has a delay of some seconds as osch0001 said, whereas the -686
takes minutes.

Then that negates the fact that it is gcc-3.3/gcc-4.0 related.
I'm guessing that this can only be a general kernel bug, but finding out
where it is fixed is going to be a tedious task. Obviously 2.6.17 fixes
this problem somehow.

If flashplugin-nonfree depends on wget, then it seems appropriate to
assume that wget is properly configured. See http_proxy and ftp_proxy
in /etc/wgetrc. Maybe you want to add debconf panels to wget to
configure proxy for wget.

I have found it.

But its present for the 2.6.15.23
I dont know why its not present for the latest kernels.

This could be due wrong kernel in use. If you did upgrade from breezy,
make sure you are running 2.6.15 kernel, and not 2.6.12. Install
linux-686 package, if you have PentiumIII+ processor.

I TOO have an Acer Travelmate 2300 and have been getting really frustrated with
this bug... i havent tried the nomux=1 fix, but i am running the latest kernel:
