It means that if gnome-power-manager is running, the button does nothing
at al. If gnome-power-manager is not running, the normal acpi rules
work fine, the the power button puts my laptop in S3 suspend.

please could you give an example of the corrupted checksum file? Also,
what backup ID numbers did your backups get to before they started
getting corrupted... did it have to go to -> 1 or were they low

Same problem here. Menu editor pops up but slows down system drastically
(choppy cursor updates etc), crashes after 3-4 seconds. Running edgy,
up-to-date as of 2006-09-01 10:55 UTC.

Well I just tried the Knoppix distro with Xorg 7 and the pci detection
was fine, but the server didn't start until the vesa driver was tested,
I'll attach the log for this.
I'll try to get the log for the Ubuntu Dapper version because I got it
running with the Breezy so...
