log into kde (which is locked after the resume) and see the message from

I checked the patch (kubuntu_84_group_toolbar_viewmode_icons.diff) that
makes the three buttons just one and have made a reverse patch for the
.desktop files. This patch does not affect the binary changes but brings
back the three buttons.
To apply:
cd /usr/share/services/
sudo patch -i /path
To emphasize: even if I see the correct icon and refresh Nautilus, it
sometimes is converted back to a blank icon (and I can't access the
computer / workgroup anymore).

Yes, bug is still around. When I go to the 'network' location in gnome,
I see the 'Windows Network'. When I browse the network, workgroups
sometimes appear as a blank icon and I can't access them. Same for

I have just gotten the alternate live-cd booting on my msi P965 Neo motherboard.
I selected raid mode for the ICH8 controllers in my bios and booted
with no futher problems.

it's not a bug; apparently you did install the rpm module by hand (dpkg
doesn't find them); at least the .a and .la files were not part of
breezy at this time.

I have determined that my freeze up is related to the open source modem
driver I had been using. Now, I have a different modem and have no

mv the file "/var/lib/dpkg/info/python-rpm-xxx.postinst" file to a backup place
(replace xxx's with the actual version numbers)
