Suddenly Banshee froze, music stopped, and then after a bit it shut down.
I was playing music from another computer on the network(daap), and at the same
time importing music from it to my own folder. I played one of the songs i was

Right now I've made a initramfs with a nice usplash, and then selected
/usr/lib/usplash/usplash-theme-ubuntu.so. The bootup sequence is nice
and shiny, the shutdown sequence is brown etc. The preview with 'usplash
-c' is with a black background.

I upgraded my laptop from kubuntu dapper to edgy, and now
it takes about 30 seconds from the moment X starts until I see the kdm login
screen.
Note that in dapper with kde 3.5.4 this took only a few seconds.

Disabled multiple CPU cores in BIOS and the install succeeds. Was able
to boot into installed system after reenabling multiple cores without

I tried to install the Ubuntu 6.10 release candidate from CD and it
popped up a window saying “Installer crashed” and telling me to file a
bug here. The “Installing system” progress bar is now at 62%, so I guess

Unfortunality this bug disappeared when I rebooted. Before I did that
I had firefox quit with a SIGSEGV fault upon klicking a link to a .pdf
file before it was able to open up a a dialog. This happend 4-5 times in
row and I had to restart firefox from the panel. The last time
then turn off and turn on the printer again, wait until it stops
blinking (automatic firmware upload)
It doesn't start to blink when turning it on. And it doesn't sound the
same way as when I have manually installed the driver, I still don't
think the firmware gets uploaded like it should.
This has built everywhere:

apt-get source dmraid will only download the old, original tar-ball
that was used for the old package. And to get all needed extra packages,
do sudo apt-get build-dep dmraid first. Once you have applied the
ubuntu diff on the upstream tar-ball, you can try building with debuild
-b -i -us -uc. See

The font in firefox is too blurry, maybe hinting is enabled.
The gnome interface font is ok, only firefox and openoffice suffers from this
problem.
I already try to disable hinting on about:config in firefox, but this
was disabled by default.

Binary package hint: edubuntu-desktop
Activated Ubuntu CD by rebooting system. Followed instructions for
installation. When I did final re-boot, ended up with GRUB and unable
to do anything. Booted up again using Ubuntu CD, went throught the
process and after everything

my system has random freezes and random log outs. The freezes can only
be avoided using the reset button.
