I updated the description - I think the reporter has made it clear that
this bug happens with or without usplash. There are other bugs around
for usplash trouble. Can somebody confirm that the computer is totally
frozen, not just that X is locked up, for instance by ping over the
network, disk

Hello,
I'm having the following problem since I installed Edgy (this wasn't a
problem in dapper)
I'm using a multiterminal setup, using xephyr and evdev to use my
computer as two.
I have no problem with gnome applications. But I can't use kde, and
Hi
Thanks for your report.
New versions of software would be in the new release: feisty.
The current version: dapper and edgy would only have security updates.
No version upgrades.

Well ok. At the very least, you need to provide some option of
disabling the lvm script... assuming a device is in /dev/mapper is not
really all that good to go into an infinite loop!
So I see a few options:
1) At the very least, check /proc/cmdline for something like

I'm seeing similar behaviour, possibly related to the same bug. When nm-

separate identical dialogues.) Once I enter my password into both, it

The fail can be related to a kernel hang due to Nvidia's resuming.
I couldn't resume in dapper (before the final release) and it was the
video card. When resuming the system was frozen (no keyboard, no work of
the first line after echo mem /sys/power/state).

I changed color depth from 16 to 24 and now pages like www.wetter.de

But it would be nice if this also worked with color depth 16, because
this is the default depth after installing edgy edge.
