I think I have the same problem. The module 'wacom' seems to be loaded
successfully, but I can't see any output of `xxd /dev/input/wacom'
(which is a symbolic link to event4 after loading the 'wacom' module).

Scroll worked for me in Dapper (I think) and does not in Edgy. Adding it
manually to Xorg.conf [1] made it work again after restarting X. This
laptop is a fresh install Edgy and possibly the autodetection has
broken.

My work around for Evolution is to have a terminal window open with a
kill command set up to kill it. As soon as the memory starts to run
away, as fast as I can I kill the app. If I am not fast enough then
whole desktop freezes. I never should have upgraded to Edgy... ug.

As far as I know gparted doesn't (for the moment) support LVM, the only way to
install Ubuntu with a LVM support is to use the alternate CD.
And once installed I don't know any graphical tools to play with the LVM.

rebuilding the kernel for non-smp takes care of the problem, but
rebuilding the kernel is alot of as of all but the most advanced ubuntu
users; and there are ALOT of P-M based machines out there.

figure this out late and install /dev/hda5 and works fine.

I see xchat was merged from Sid and uploaded to Feisty. Perhaps that's
the fix committed we're looking for?
I'll play with it a bit on Edgy and see how it is, and perhaps a
Backports request can be opened for it.

When performing an installiation of (K)ubuntu Edgy in a previously
partitioned disk with reiserfs partitions, the installer won't let me
proceed, telling me that I have to select a partition for the root file
system, altough I've already selected one.

I use a Sony Vaio VGN-S460. It has the pentium Centrino processor.
After a fresh install I'm idling at 40% sometimes higher, with nothing
but the OS running. I havent tried adding this maxcstate yet, but this
whole bug seems to also affect graphic usage as well.
