I have not been able to get katapult to work at all since updating.
I have deleted katapultrc and purged the old install and reinstalled
with no joy.
Running katapult from a terminal gives the following message:
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
Major opcode: 147
It doesn't work for ~any~ file; ZIP, RAR, etc.
I should add that the "Extract" button in the top toolbar works fine.
It's the "Extract" button in the dialog box asking where you'd like to
extract the file that's broken.
This isn't a crash, but would an strace or something similar help?

I am not sure... I just know that it loads up live cd burned from iso
with my old emachines t1120 and a proview 17" monitor
it has to do with the MONITOR itself !!!
My asus will load it up but will only display through a monitor as 85hz
and I cannot change the output hz with asus intel graphics

I managed to fix this after some research, apparently i didn't know that GRUB
use a different kind of numbering of partitions (e.g 1 in mbr means 0 in GRUB)
and after all I did install GRUB into (hd0) as default, and it works

Thanks, Andreas. System settings wasn't installed on this machine -- I
hadn't heard of it until now. (I originally installed KDE on top of
Ubuntu, rather than directly by installing Kubuntu. Presumably, had I
installed Kubuntu, System Settings would have been installed
