Everything was perfect till Dapper when the problem happened, with the same
system, motherdoard, CPU...

kdesu doesn't start because you are logged in as ubuntu, a password-less
account with sudo privileges. I suspect that `kdesu wlassistant` is
still what's being run, but since your user doesn't have a password the

i was able to reproduce it. i was following the

i did a $ fglrxinfo it stated direct rendering was disabled. grrr.
so the next step is to create a sym link
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/dri /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/
then i ran $ fglrx
Now it opens camera://USB PTP Class [EMAIL PROTECTED]:002,002]/
On Feisty, this works correctly, on Edgy I get an error message:

I'm pretty sure that the problem here is that klibc's internal
sys/types.h does "typedef __kernel_loff_t off_t;" (sic), whereas
debian/patches/10-use-exported-kernel-headers.patch backs this out in
favour of which does "typedef __kernel_off_t off_t;"
instead. usr/klibc/SYSCALLS.def uses off_t for
I propose this be an SRU.
The bug renders this package unusable since you can't actually build the
module. It does not appear to be fixed in feisty. I attached a patch to
remove the bashisms causing the broken behaviour.

I think that in any case gnome-panel's behavior year is buggy, but what
leans me toward the packaging system being part at fault too is that I

This also breaks the drbd0.7-module-source package so that it's
compilation fails.
I suppose this is the perogative of the DASH author(s), but it breaks
the -e option convention used by both the BASH builtin as well as the
/bin/echo program.
